The Art of Nature
This illustrated post-it note is special to me for a few reasons. Have you ever started something that is really important and then when things started to go really well, you sought and shared reasons why you didn’t have to do that ‘thing’ as often anymore? Of course you have, we all have. So there I was, away from my home with a small kit of markers asking myself, ‘do I really need to do a quote today while I’m away?’ and the answer was a resounding yes.
It’s All In the Details
The best things in life almost always require some form of waiting. Milestones have a way of sitting on the horizon and if you play your cards right, they get closer over time. Delicious food is no different when you’ve been out and about all morning and you have finally selected the place you’ll rest and hopefully eat something you wouldn’t be able to make at home.
Breakfast with a Smile
I have to start this post with a moment of gratitude for my in-laws. Their graceful and kind transition to grandparenting has allowed my wife and me at least a week each summer to reconnect as partners while our kids are away. This last summer allowed us for a quick getaway to Asheville, NC where we liquidated some hotel credit card points to take in some beautiful sites.
Hand me a napkin
Have you ever been to a restaurant or bar where you wanted to remember something, or share your information with someone else but didn’t have any paper? The old adage of writing your number on a bar napkin? I’ve taken this idea a step further these last few years and whenever my family and I are out to eat, or if I’m meeting friends for a drink, etc - I make sure to grab a napkin or two from the bar so that I can leave the server with something memorable.
Who will You Be in the Rain?
Yesterday, after spending all day on the rugby field watching my boys play I had this feeling welling inside me that I had to get uncomfortable. On purpose.
